Product Information

Another interesting lot out of Colombia, this our second time working with producer Jorge Correa through our long time friend José Giraldo. This coffee comes to us from Caldas, in the heart of the world-famous Colombian Coffee Axis.

At Finca San Juan, Jorge Correa farms multiple varieties of coffee across roughly 150 hectares of land – for context, most farms in Colombia are under 5 hectares, so Jorge has a lot of room to play with! As is common in most of Colombia, he farms a decent amount of Castillo, the high-volume work-horse variety, but also has older legacy varieties such as caturra and bourbon. Additionally, Jorge has a decent amount of the coveted gesha variety, known for its high flority and elegant sweetness.

This lot is a blend of all those varieties and more, which, after harvest, are separated in into two lots - one for depulping and washing, and one for natural dry-processing.

The resulting cup is a complex fruit salad of experiences, giving off the fruitiness and roundness of a natural coffee, while finishing with cleanliness and acidity of a washed coffee, all with a subtle baseline of florality owed to the percentage of gesha in the cup. A delicious and interesting cup to add to your rotation!
