Resume

Jose was certified with the first group of International Certified Judges in 2002, and from then he helped launch the first championships held in Central and South America, as well as in Spain and France. Since then, he has participated year after year as a sensory and head judge in most of the championships in many parts of the world.

Jose is a WCE Certified Judge for the Barista, Brewers, Latte Art, and Coffee in Good Spirits Championships, and has conducted workshops in his native language, English, French, and Portuguese. Jose has been a Head Judge for the Barista finals in Colombia and Atlanta, and for the inaugural Brewer’s Cup Championship in Australia, and the following event in Italy.

As part of his WCE Rep development process, he had the opportunity to support the National Barista, Latte Art, Coffee and Good Spirits, Roasting, and Brewers Cup Championships in many countries. These included Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rico, Spain, France, Russia, Estonia, Italy, Denmark, and Japan.

He is an SCA Certified instructor, and currently teaches workshops in Mexico, while supporting courses in the US. Jose is a firm believer in the power of education, and has volunteered and lectured at many SCA shows.
